We also provide beverage cart, snack bar and 19th hole service on the golf course and at our pool cabana. In the fall, the menus are “kicked up a notch” with formal dining on Saturday evenings. Responsibilities may include assisting customers with their clubs, helping out in the golf pro shop, parking golf cars or picking up range balls. Positions are also available in the locker room, or even learn to be a caddie. Besides providing a venue to improve your golf game, golf course employment allows you to learn value from the camaraderie, etiquette and sportsmanship that the game offers. The Pro Shop is currently operated by Golf Professional Mike Bradshaw and assisted by Caddy Master, Christopher Bohac. Both were long time employees of Stan Baluik, a past Rhode Island Open and Vermont Open Champion, who retired in 2005 after operating the Pro Shop since 1963. Stan remains on staff at Kirkbrae as Director of Golf. The Pro Shop is dedicated to hiring and training the best staff in the field. If you're more fond of nature and working with the land, golf course maintenance may be more to your liking. This position usually reports early in the morning and is off work by 2:00 or 3:00 PM. This outside position could be responsible for cutting grass, irrigation, sodding, trimming and much more. Mark Richard, a Certified Golf Course Superintendent and ten year employee of Kirkbrae Country Club has served as past president of the RI Golf Course Superintendent Association and the N.E. Regional Turfgrass Foundation. Assisted by Peter Wood, he and his staff take great pride in maintaining the 18 hole golf course designed by Geoffrey Cornish in 1967.
